Job Description

Job Summary The Stand-up forklift operator is responsible for safely operating forklift while performing warehouse and material handling duties.
Job Responsibilities Forklift Operation :
Drive the stand-up forklift and control the movement of lifting apparatus by moving levers and pressing pedals
Material Handling :
Position lifting forks under loaded pallets or skids, transport loads to designated areas, and stack materials by raising and lowering the lifting device
Organization :
Maintain material in an efficient and orderly manner by size and grade for easy retrieval
Inventory Management :
Inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials as needed
Inspection and Reporting :
Inspect materials for damage or shortages and report findings to the supervisor
Loading/Unloading :
Load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting devices
Equipment Maintenance :
Perform routine maintenance on the forklift, including lubricating the truck, recharging batteries, filling the fuel tank, or replacing the liquefied gas tank
Additional Duties :
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support warehouse operations
Qualifications Certification :
Valid active stand-up forklift certification.
Communication :
Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees, and to read and understand safety rules, operation, maintenance, and procedure manuals.
Mathematics :
Proficiency in basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Instruction Compliance :
Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Education and Experience :
1-year certificate from a college or technical school; or Three to six months of related experience; or Two-year technical degree or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in a related field
Technical Skills :
Ability to read and understand work orders and written instructions, utilize measuring devices such as rulers, tapes, and calipers, and use a computer to check stock and print tags
Product Knowledge :
Knowledge of products handled in the warehouse
Banding Equipment :
Ability to use banding equipment
Physical Examination :
Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
Reliability :
