Job Title:
Forklift Operator Job Description The Forklift Operator safely and efficiently loads and unloads floor-loaded trucks, moves and organizes materials within a warehouse, and supports overall warehouse operations. This role involves operating a sit-down forklift, performing heavy manual handling, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards, and collaborating with team members to ensure accurate and timely movement of goods. Responsibilities Unload and load floor-loaded trucks safely and efficiently. Operate a sit-down forklift to move, stack, and organize materials throughout the warehouse. Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of products as required, including items up to 75 lbs. Inspect forklifts and other warehouse equipment daily and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards. Assist with inventory control activities, including accurate documentation and verification of incoming and outgoing shipments. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily and weekly operational goals. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to minimize risk and ensure a secure work environment. Essential Skills Proven experience in warehouse operations. Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse environment. Valid forklift certification for sit-down forklift operation. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs on a regular basis. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to safety, detail, and equipment inspection. Ability to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with general labor tasks in a warehouse setting. Experience with material handling, including loading and unloading trucks. Ability to maintain accurate documentation related to shipments and inventory. Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and leadership. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a brand new, climate-controlled warehouse environment. Typical working hours are currently from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will regularly operate a sit-down forklift and handle materials throughout the facility. The workplace follows OSHA safety standards and maintains a clean and organized setting. Appropriate safety footwear, such as steel-toe shoes or boots, is required, along with plain, practical work attire suitable for a warehouse environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
