In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and clamp trucks, to facilitate the safe and accurate movement of goods within the warehouse. Your expertise will support seamless warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and timely shipping and receiving processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety standards, possess excellent manual handling skills, and have prior experience in warehouse management systems and distribution environments. Responsibilities Operate a variety of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo lifts, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners to load, unload, and transport materials efficiently. Ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety protocols during all equipment operation and materials handling activities. Manage inventory by accurately picking orders using order picker equipment and updating inventory management systems in real-time. Load and unload shipments safely while adhering to heavy lifting guidelines and manual handling best practices. Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment; perform minor repairs or report issues promptly to ensure optimal functioning. Support shipping and receiving operations by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Maintain organized storage areas, perform inventory counts, and assist in cycle counts to uphold inventory accuracy. Follow warehouse distribution procedures to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency. Utilize barcode scanning technology for logistics tracking and data entry into warehouse management systems. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to improve operational processes and ensure safety standards are maintained at all times. Qualifications Proven experience operating forklift trucks (including reach trucks, cherry pickers, Hi-Lo lifts) within a warehouse or distribution setting. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning for logistics purposes. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, order picking, load & unload procedures. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements. Experience with manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks while prioritizing safety. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely. Prior experience in warehouse supervision or inventory management is a plus but not mandatory.
