Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator and Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics and warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and management of materials within the warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, adhering to safety standards, and supporting warehouse operations to meet production and distribution goals. Duties Operate forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo equipment safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse. Manage inventory through barcode scanning systems, ensuring accurate tracking of goods in warehouse management systems. Assist with order picking, packing, shipping, and receiving processes to meet customer deadlines. Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety compliance. Load and unload trucks manually or using heavy equipment while following manual handling procedures to prevent injury. Maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular stock counts and updating warehouse management systems. Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and warehouse safety protocols to promote a safe working environment. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas and ensuring materials are stored correctly. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow efficiency and improve overall operations. Assist in training new team members on equipment operation, safety standards, and warehouse procedures. Skills Proven experience operating forklift types such as reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo, and pallet jacks. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning for logistics. Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures and heavy equipment operation. Ability to perform basic math calculations related to inventory counts, weight measurements, and load calculations. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, forklift safety protocols, manual handling techniques, and heavy lifting procedures. Experience with materials handling equipment repair or troubleshooting is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards. Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors. Basic understanding of warehouse distribution processes and warehouse operations.
