Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials within our facility. Your expertise in operating various types of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and reach trucks, will ensure smooth warehouse operations, accurate inventory management, and safe handling of goods. This position offers an energetic environment where safety, precision, and teamwork drive success every day. Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo lifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners to load, unload, and transport materials. Execute order picking and order fulfillment tasks with precision using manual handling techniques and warehouse management systems. Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to safety standards in production and warehouse safety protocols. Maintain accurate inventory records through barcode scanning for logistics and inventory management systems. Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for any issues with heavy equipment operation. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas, managing stock rotation, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations. Requirements Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts (including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo lifts), pallet jacks, and lift trucks. Strong understanding of warehouse operations including inventory management, shipping & receiving, and materials handling. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments like OSHA guidelines and forklift safety protocols. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while maintaining attention to detail. Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and data entry tasks. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software for order picking and inventory control is preferred. Warehouse experience involving barcode scanning for logistics is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors with warehouse supervisor experience preferred.
