In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, loading, and unloading of materials using various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts. Your expertise in warehouse management systems and materials handling will ensure smooth operations in shipping, receiving, order picking, and inventory control. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-organized distribution environment where safety, accuracy, and productivity are top priorities. Responsibilities Operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo equipment safely and efficiently to load and unload shipments. Pick and prepare orders accurately using order picker equipment and warehouse management systems. Assist with inventory management by conducting regular stock counts and updating records in the warehouse management system. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency throughout the warehouse. Perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting as needed to minimize downtime. Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments against documentation and ensuring proper storage. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize materials handling processes and improve overall warehouse distribution flow. Experience Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts within a warehouse environment. Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing. Prior experience in shipping & receiving, order picking, or materials handling roles preferred. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety protocols. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs or troubleshoot equipment issues. Excellent basic math skills for inventory counts and measurements. Warehouse experience involving load & unload activities, heavy lifting, and proper use of pallet jacks or other manual handling tools is essential.
