Overview Powered Industrial Truck Operators are responsible for safely operating forklifts, loaders, and other mobile equipment to support manufacturing, material handling, and production operations. This role requires strong situational awareness, knowledge of jobsite safety standards, and the ability to work productively in a changing and dynamic work environment. Key Responsibilities Operate forklifts, loaders, and other mobile equipment to move and transfer raw materials and finished products Load and unload trucks, trailers, and hoppers in accordance with safety and quality standards Supply production lines with materials and remove finished goods as directed Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance needs Maintain accurate material movement and inventory records Follow all plant safety rules, traffic guidelines, and PPE requirements Assist with housekeeping, waste handling, and general plant support activities Communicate effectively with production, shipping, and maintenance teams Ability to safely refuel and/or recharge vehicles Ability to remove and clean debris from equipment Ability to read and interpret the machine data plate to verify load capacity dependent on the attachment in use Understand the Stability Triangle and how reach, height and unlevel surfaces affect stability Use attachments (e.g., buckets, forks, grapples, snow pushers, sweepers) as assigned Perform precise maneuvering in tight spaces and around personnel, vehicles, utilities, and structures This role should be cross-trained sufficiently to be able to function temporarily in the following roles: General Laborer and/or Production Equipment Operator Forklift Operators (counterbalance or reach) Before beginning any loading/unloading operations, ensure the trailer is properly secured. This may include jack stands, wheel chocks, glad hand locks, ICC bumper restraints, etc. Prior to loading, the operator is to complete a ship readiness report After loading or unloading, ensure the above is removed, and all work is complete prior to releasing the trailer Skid Steer Loaders Before beginning any loading/unloading operations, ensure the trailer is properly secured. This may include jack stands, wheel chocks, glad hand locks, ICC bumper restraints, etc. After loading or unloading, ensure the above is removed, and all work is complete prior to releasing the trailer Understand control functions for the different attachments that may be in use Ability to safely reverse using only the in-cab camera for visibility Required Skills & Abilities Strong attention to safety, situational awareness, and communication skills Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception Ability to judge load size, balance, and machine stability Strong awareness of surroundings and multi-tasking in active work zones Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent Ability to successfully complete forklift or mobile equipment certification (or ability to obtain) Experience operating industrial mobile equipment in a manufacturing or warehouse setting Physical Requirements Ability to work 40+ hours per week including weekends when necessary Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs and ladders, squatting, kneeling, and extended periods of standing Must be physically able to work in unconditioned and uncomfortable environments Ability to climb in/out of equipment multiple times per shift

Visual Acuity:

Operators should have adequate vision to see and interpret signals, signs, and the surrounding environment clearly. This typically means having at least 20/40 vision in one eye, with or without corrective lenses

Depth Perception:

Good depth perception is crucial for safely maneuvering forklifts, especially when stacking or moving loads

Peripheral Vision:

Operators need sufficient peripheral vision to be aware of their surroundings and avoid accidents

Audio Acuity:

Required to safely perform essential job functions, including hearing warning signals/alarms, receiving verbal directions, and maintaining situational awareness in environments with heavy equipment noise Must be available to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as required to meet operational demands

Pay:

$17.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
