$100,000 About Special Kneads and Treats Special Kneads and Treats, Inc. is a nonprofit bakery with a powerful mission: to create meaningful employment, training, education, and vocational opportunities exclusively for adults with developmental disabilities. Founded in 2013 by Michael and Tempa Kohler, it grew from a family's desire to create a meaningful workplace for their son, Bradley, into a growing community organization whose impact extends far beyond the bakery. Through our Cakes for Kiddos program, we partner with churches, nonprofits, DFCS partners, foster-care organizations, and other community agencies to provide personalized birthday cakes to children experiencing hardship. The Opportunity We are seeking an accomplished Director of Development to lead fundraising and revenue development during an important period of organizational growth. This is a strategic, relationship-driven leadership role — not simply a grant-writing position. The Director will build and execute a diversified fundraising strategy encompassing grants, major gifts, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, individual giving, campaigns, events, and community partnerships. The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator and relationship builder who can confidently engage foundation leaders, major donors, corporations, churches, and community partners, and clearly communicate why investing in Special Kneads and Treats creates meaningful, measurable impact — someone deeply passionate about the dignity, purpose, and opportunity that meaningful employment provides adults with developmental disabilities. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive annual and multi-year fundraising strategy, building and managing a strong pipeline of foundation, corporate, major-gift, sponsorship, and individual prospects. Research, write, submit, and steward competitive grant proposals and reports. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and corporate partners; develop sponsorship opportunities, strategic partnerships, and recurring giving programs. Lead fundraising campaigns and actively support organizational fundraising events. Expand community relationships with businesses, churches, civic organizations, foundations, and nonprofit partners; strengthen funding, sponsorship, and referral partnerships for Cakes for Kiddos. Work closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to identify and pursue strategic fundraising opportunities. Establish effective donor stewardship, tracking, and reporting systems; maintain a measurable development dashboard and regularly report results, pipeline activity, and revenue to leadership. Represent Special Kneads and Treats professionally throughout the community. Success in the First Year Establish a diversified 12-24 month fundraising pipeline. Secure or generate at least $100,000 in sustainable annualized revenue attributable to the position within the first year, with significant growth expected thereafter. Increase foundation, corporate, sponsorship, major-gift, and recurring donor support, and expand the organization's network of strategic community partners. Increase funding and community reach for Cakes for Kiddos. Help strengthen unrestricted revenue and long-term financial sustainability. Build the fundraising infrastructure necessary to support continued growth and create additional employment opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Qualifications 5+ years of progressively responsible development, fundraising, advancement, grant writing, or related experience, with demonstrated success securing significant philanthropic funding, grants, major gifts, sponsorships, or corporate partnerships. Proven ability to cultivate relationships and move prospects from identification through solicitation and stewardship. Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills; a strategic thinker with strong organizational, analytical, and follow-through skills. Comfortable representing an organization publicly and building relationships throughout the community. Experience with nonprofit CRM and fundraising systems preferred; experience working with organizations serving individuals with disabilities highly desirable. Established relationships within the Georgia philanthropic and business community are a plus. Bachelor's degree preferred; CFRE or similar credential is a plus. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required; willingness to participate in occasional evening and weekend events.

Compensation Starting salary:

$100,000 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, AD&D, FTO, and a Direct Primary Care option. The position has initial grant support providing a strong runway for success.
