Job Description

Hospital & Community Development Position Summary The Hospital Development Office is responsible for advancing the hospital's mission by building philanthropic support, cultivating donor relationships, coordinating fundraising campaigns, and supporting community engagement initiatives. This role works closely with hospital leadership, physicians, volunteers, donors, and community partners to identify funding opportunities that strengthen patient care, clinical programs, capital projects, and long-term organizational growth. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to meet annual and long-term revenue goals.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, major gift prospects, corporate partners, foundations, and community supporters.
  • Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors using moves management practices and donor database tools.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support fundraising events, donor recognition activities, grateful patient initiatives, and community campaigns.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership, clinical teams, communications staff, volunteers, and board members to align development efforts with organizational priorities.
  • Track campaign progress, donor activity, pledges, payments, and fundraising metrics accurately and confidentially.
  • Support annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, capital campaigns, and other philanthropy programs as assigned.
  • Represent the hospital professionally at meetings, events, tours, and community activities.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, privacy requirements, ethical fundraising standards, and donor confidentiality expectations. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, marketing, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of fundraising, donor relations, nonprofit development, healthcare philanthropy, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong writing, presentation, relationship-building, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of healthcare philanthropy, grateful patient fundraising, grant writing, or major gift fundraising is desirable. Core Competencies

Work Details Reports to:
Executive Director Employment type: Full-time days; evening or weekend hours will be required for donor meetings, events, conventions/conferences and community activities.
Work environment:
Office-based with minimum 2 days/week in the field.
Pay:
From $60,000.00 per year
