Solid Rock is looking for a Development Director to join our team. The position is full-time (32-40 hours/week). Although listed at FT, we are open to considering a PT arrangement for the right candidate, noting that job responsibilities would be adjusted accordingly.
General Purpose:
The Development Director's daily routine is dictated by their primary goal of supporting the fundraising goals for Solid Rock and securing the financial resources needed to keep the organization running. This includes but is not limited to implementing the Development Policy, communicating with stakeholders, and directly supporting the Executive Director and fundraising chairs in the planning, implementation, and stewardship of fundraising events. They are responsible for ensuring Solid Rock receives sufficient funding to carry out its mission.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to the mission and vision of Solid Rock Youth Ministries
- A passion for connecting with others and sharing stories
- The ability to work well with others, including the SRYM staff, dozens of volunteers in various capacities, and community members
- Comfortable with setting donor meetings and soliciting funds
- Confident in public speaking skills, and comfortable asking for money and donations
- Fundraising experience/Communication Experience and/or Education preferred
- Ability to track financials, manage budgets, and set fundraising goals
- Confidence with self-direction, goal setting and making appeals
- Occasional weekend and evening availability for special events, meetings and fundraisers
- Comfortable with specific communication, progress transparency, and reporting to the Executive Director and ability to redirect efforts as suggested by the Executive Director
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and The Google Suite. General computer literacy required
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong relational, communication, and writing skills for communicating both within the Solid Rock team, and with donors and sponsors
