Through digital classroom lessons, teacher training, and community partnerships, MPP equips educators with practical tools that strengthen resilience, emotional regulation, and mental health in schools. Learn more about our organization at TheMPP.org . About the Position The Director of Development leads and executes MPP's fundraising strategy to support revenue growth and long-term sustainability. This position is responsible for achieving annual fundraising goals through individual donor strategy, grant pipeline management, and corporate partnerships. This is an opportunity for a relationship-driven fundraiser who is energized by building systems, cultivating community partnerships, and helping take a growing nonprofit to its next stage of impact. The Director of Development will work closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to strengthen MPP's financial foundation during a pivotal moment of organizational growth. This position reports to the Executive Director. Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy and Project Management Develop and implement strategies to increase individual, corporate, and institutional donations Collaborate with Executive Director, Operations Director, and Board on funding strategies and growth opportunities Lead fundraising campaigns, events, and donor engagement initiatives Develop and implement annual fundraising calendar Monitor fundraising metrics and report progress to leadership and board Individual Donor Cultivation Lead donor cultivation and stewardship strategy Partner with Executive Director on major donor relationship management Manage seasonal and annual appeals Maintain donor database (Neon One) and develop systems for tracking individual acknowledgements, contacts, and donor communications Community Outreach & Corporate Sponsorship Lead corporate sponsorship fundraising strategy Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses and community organizations Represent MPP in the community at events Grantwriting Track and manage grant applications, prospects, deadlines, and reporting Research and pursue new funding opportunities and partnerships Draft and submit proposals Manage institutional relationships in partnership with Executive Director Communications & Engagement Support Director of Communications with donor communications Qualifications 2+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience Experience with CRMs or donor management platforms (Neon One is a plus) Experience in sales, business development, or community outreach Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills Excellent communication and presentation abilities Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently Passion for mental health, education, and community impact Working Conditions This is a part-time, salaried position (15-20 hours per week) with room to grow into full-time as the organization expands.
Salary Range:
$30,000-$40,000 annually (part-time), with performance-based bonus incentives aligned to annual fundraising goals. MPP operates in a hybrid model with an office in downtown Colorado Springs. The Director of Development is expected to work in-office once per week and engage regularly with community members and funders throughout the Pikes Peak Region. Occasional evening and weekend events are required. Local travel and use of a personal vehicle, cell phone, and computer are expected. MPP supports a healthy work-life balance with a generous vacation policy, paid sick days, and flexible scheduling.
