Job Description

About the Role Yorba Linda FC is seeking a motivated Fundraising Intern to help grow financial support for our youth soccer programs. You'll work directly with our board and team managers to plan campaigns, cultivate sponsors, and support fundraising events, gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit and youth-sports development work. Key Responsibilities
  • Research and reach out to local business sponsors and community partners
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising events (tournaments, car washes, spirit nights, etc.)
  • Support online giving campaigns and peer-to-peer fundraising platforms (e.g., GoFundMe, TeamSnap, DonorBox)
  • Maintain donor and sponsor records; send acknowledgment and thank-you communications
  • Help create promotional materials and social media content to drive donations
  • Research grant opportunities relevant to youth sports nonprofits
  • Provide a fundraising summary/report at the end of the internship Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college program (business, marketing, sports management, or nonprofit studies preferred)
  • Prior experience or coursework in fundraising, development, sales, or nonprofit work strongly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with outreach: emails, calls, and in-person conversations with local businesses and families
  • Organized and reliable; able to manage multiple relationships and deadlines
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic design tools (Canva a plus)
  • Passion for youth sports and community involvement Terms
  • Commitment:
    8-10 hours/week for one season (approx. 10-12 weeks)
  • Compensation:
    This is a volunteer role; a nominal token wage is listed to meet posting requirements. A letter of recommendation, references, and a fundraising performance summary will be provided for resumes/college credit
  • Schedule:
    Flexible, hybrid, remote outreach work plus attendance at 2-4 in-person events
