We are seeking a full-time Development Director who is self-motivated, energetic, and a take-charge individual.
Summary of Duties:
For more than 50 years, Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers has provided medical, behavioral, and environmental health services to the underserved communities on the south side of Milwaukee and in Waukesha. Our mission is to improve health and well-being by providing quality, patient-centered, family-based health care, health education and social services, free from linguistic, cultural, and economic barriers. A strategic and creative thinker, the Development Director will help develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to increase individual, foundation and corporate giving as well as event planning and execution.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a Fund Development Plan annually that prioritizes and plans fund development activities for the year. Prepare narratives for touch points and impact reports. Effectively cultivate and solicit corporations, individuals, organizations, and foundations. Implement and evaluate fundraising campaigns and analyze activities for overall effectiveness. Draft and lead creation of donor communications to Annual Fund, Major and Planned Gift Donors, including case statements, impact reports, and donor newsletters. Work with members of the staff and board to identify and pursue funding sources and prospects. Utilize prospect research tools and SSCHC's donor database to identify potential donors. Coordinate donor meetings and prepare necessary presentation materials. Meet with donors and develop donor relationships. Manage donor database; ensure accuracy of gift entry and reporting. Work with finance department to reconcile the donor records with finance reports. Ensure stewardship of donors through prompt recognition of gifts and relationship building. Plan and implement all aspects of our annual fundraising event.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. Minimum 3-5 years of fund development experience with proven success in all facets of fund development. Outstanding written communication skills and experience in donor cultivation. Effective interpersonal communication skills and experience in meeting with top administrators, executives, and community leaders. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, problem solving, and budgets. Ability to work on selected weeknights and weekends as required. Ability to appropriately handle confidential matters and information. Experience in fundraising and data management systems; Donor Perfect is highly desirable. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software. Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks while working as part of a team. Ability to relate well to people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. XJ6
