The Opportunity:

Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a full-time Grant Writer to join our Development team. In this on-site role, you will develop compelling grant proposals and reports, research prospective funders, manage submission deadlines, and help grow grant revenue in support of high-quality, patient-centered care for Boston's diverse communities. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends for special events.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the writing and assembly of grant proposals and reports to help generate more than $1 million in annual operating and program support. Research and identify funding opportunities from corporations, foundations, and federal, state, and city agencies. Collaborate with program directors, managers, leadership, and other staff to develop letters of inquiry, concept papers, proposals, and funding requests. Coordinate timely input and review from internal stakeholders before proposal and report deadlines. Manage the grants calendar and ensure that all applications, reports, and other deliverables are submitted on time. Collect, analyze, organize, and report program and organizational data for funders and other stakeholders. Build and maintain relationships with grant administrators and funders, support stewardship activities, and provide weekly updates on submissions and upcoming opportunities. Track gifts and donor information in Raiser's Edge and support annual appeals, fundraising events, communications materials, and other Development initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. At least two years of grant writing experience, including experience building relationships with funders and grant administrators. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate program impact into compelling narratives for varied audiences. Advanced word-processing and desktop-publishing skills, competency in database management, and the ability to work in Raiser's Edge. Excellent organization, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
