Organization Rondo Community Land Trust (CLT) is a community-based affordable housing land trust that works to create and preserve permanently affordable homeownership for low- to moderate-income households in Saint Paul and Ramsey County, Minnesota. Rondo CLT's development activities include acquisition, rehabilitation, and construction of affordable housing, asset management of land trust holdings, and economic development through Commercial Land Trusts. The organization is active in community development, research, a nd policy initiatives and operates ancillary businesses, including the for-profit restaurant Golden Thyme, as part of its social enterprise strategy. Job Overview The Grants Manager is a dedicated grant-writing and fundraising professional responsible for building and executing Rondo CLT's grants pipeline from end to end: identifying opportunities, crafting winning proposals, and managing submissions across foundation, corporate, and government funding sources. This role is singularly focused on growing contributed revenue through grants and is measured on proposals submitted and dollars secured . The ideal candidate is a seasoned grant writer with a track record of w inning competitive awards, sharp research instincts for finding new funding leads, and the discipline to manage a high-volume submission calendar with precision. Primary Responsibilities Prospect Research & Pipeline Development Proactively research, identify , and qualify new grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources aligned with Rondo CLT's mission and programs. Build and maintain a robust grants pipeline and calendar tracking prospects, deadlines, submissions, decisions, and reporting due dates. Monitor federal, state, and local funding announcements (NOFAs/RFPs) relevant to affordable housing and community development. Cultivate relationships with program officers and funder representatives to strengthen future proposal competitiveness. Grant Writing & Submission Write, edit, and submit compelling, accurate letters of inquiry, proposals, and applications, tailoring narrative and budget content to each funder's priorities and guidelines. Coordinate with program, finance, and leadership staff to gather the data, budgets, and outcomes needed to support strong proposals. Manage the full submission process, ensuring all requirements, attachments, and deadlines are met without exception. Track win/loss outcomes and proposal performance to continuously refine approach and messaging. Award Management & Handoff Maintain organized records of grant agreements, submission drafts, and funder correspondence. Communicate awarded grant terms, deliverables, and reporting schedules clearly to the Compliance Associate and program staff for ongoing administration. Support renewal strategy for recurring and multi-year grants to sustain and grow funding relationships. Organizational Support Report regularly to the Executive Director on pipeline activity, submissions, and funds secured. Contribute grant-related content and impact data to broader development and communications efforts as needed. Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in grant writing and fundraising, with a demonstrated track record of researching, writing, submitting , and winning competitive grants. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to translate complex programs and budgets into clear, persuasive narrative. Strong research skills and the ability to independently identify new and relevant funding opportunities. Proven ability to manage a high volume of deadlines and priorities simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy. Comfort working closely with program and finance staff to gather information needed for proposals. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and grant management or CRM tools.
Preferred:
Experience in affordable housing, community development, or nonprofit organizations. Experience with government grants (federal, state, or local) in addition to foundation and corporate funding. Familiarity with grants management platforms and donor/grant databases.

DOE Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours /week; occasional evenings or weekends for funder deadlines
