Corporate/Foundation/Donors Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Development, this full-time position is primarily responsible for raising the financial resources needed to promote the success of the affiliate. The Development Officer will work collaboratively with the Director of Development and affiliate staff and volunteers to steward current corporate and foundation donors, as well as expanding and developing new philanthropic relationships to increase financial and volunteer support for Habitat for Humanity's full range of programming. This position will also be responsible for working with corporate partners to develop new opportunities to activate their corporate philanthropic mission with Habitat for Humanity of Summit County. The role will have engagement with donor levels as determined by the Director of Development for stewardships activities. The Development Officer will assist the affiliate's team in executing annual fundraising events as needed. The successful Development Officer will be an active ambassador for Habitat for Humanity in the community including oversight being a welcoming greeter on large job site projects to sign in/out volunteers and provide some safety monitoring for health and wellness of our volunteers.
What you need:
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications -or- equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of development and fundraising experience with a track record of increased giving
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations preferred
  • Proven track record of securing individual and corporate gifts of increasing significance
  • Experience with direct mail and special event fundraising preferred
  • Successful grant writing skills preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and cultural competency skills to effectively work with a wide spectrum of people in a collaborative way
  • Integrity, organization and attention to detail, as well as, ability to work independently and multi-task
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required
  • Excellent computer skills
Hiring Requirements:
  • Valid In-State Driver's License, ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
