Summary:
Under general supervision, the Grant Specialist will collaborate directly with the Grant Manager to monitor post-award grant activities, including but not limited to compliance, reporting, and cost allocations. Specifically, the Grant Specialist will process and record grant related expenses and payment documentation. The grant specialist will also work closely with the Grant Accountant to assure funding and expenses are accurately monitored and will work to process any audit requests for documentation under the direction of the Grant Manager or Director. Additionally, the Specialist will work with physicians, staff, and administrators to provide grant related guidance, support, and information related to grants. This position will also require occasional interaction with current or potential funders and funding agencies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is required. Two years grant management experience is preferred. Experience in working with Accounting, Purchasing and Auditing is preferred. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Must be able to use a computer to enter, retrieve, and manipulate data. The ability to use word processing, database, and spreadsheet software is required. Self-motivated with the ability to translate strategy into daily work plans. A collaborative temperament and ability to work closely with team members. Requires a high level of organizational skills and the ability to mentally attend to a significant amount of detail work. Ability to distill complex ideas and information from many sources into coherent, persuasive proposals. Ability to work independently, work under pressure of deadlines, and effectively manage multiple projects. The ability to write, edit, and proofread reports and proposals is required.
