Location:
Leesburg, VA (Hybrid with regular on-site presence preferred)
Schedule:
Part-Time (20-24 hours/week)
Salary:
$30,000 - $50,000 annually , commensurate with experience About Mobile Hope Mobile Hope exists to serve young adults (ages 18-24) experiencing homelessness and housing instability in Loudoun County. Through food, clothing, education, employment support, crisis care, and other essential services, we help young people move toward stable, independent lives. Last year, more than 1,000 young adults came through our doors—a record for our organization. As we continue growing our programs and expanding our impact, we're seeking an experienced grant writer to help secure the funding that makes this life-changing work possible. Position Summary Mobile Hope is seeking an experienced, mission-driven Grant Writer & Development Specialist to help grow and diversify our funding through foundation, corporate, and government grants. This position is much more than writing proposals. You'll become part of our team, learning our programs, building relationships with staff, and seeing firsthand the impact Mobile Hope has on the young adults we serve. We believe the strongest grant proposals are built on authentic stories, measurable outcomes, and a deep understanding of the organization's mission. Because of this, we are looking for someone who is local to the Northern Virginia area and excited to spend regular time on our Leesburg campus. Primary Responsibilities Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies Write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials Develop grant budgets in collaboration with leadership Manage the annual grants calendar and submission deadlines Prepare grant reports and ensure compliance with reporting requirements Build and maintain relationships with foundation representatives Partner with program staff to gather outcomes, statistics, stories, and program updates Help shape funding strategies for new and existing initiatives Maintain organized grant files and supporting documentation Monitor emerging funding opportunities that align with Mobile Hope's mission Qualifications Required Demonstrated experience writing successful nonprofit grant proposals Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines Ability to translate program outcomes into compelling funding proposals Passion for Mobile Hope's mission and serving vulnerable young adults Preferred Three or more years of nonprofit grant writing experience Track record of securing foundation, corporate, and/or government grants Experience working with youth services, homelessness, housing, behavioral health, education, or other human services organizations Experience working with donor databases and Microsoft Office Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising best practices Why Join Mobile Hope?
