THE ROLE
The Assistant General Manager is the second-in-command and a key driver of the club's sales, operations, and member experience. This is not a "helping hands" position. The AGM is expected to take ownership, solve problems, lead the team, and produce measurable results. If you see a problem, solve it. If you see an opportunity, pursue it. If something needs to get done, make sure it gets done.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSALES & REVENUE
Generate and follow up with leads. Conduct tours, consultations, and free-class conversions. Ask for the sale and follow up with prospects who don't join. Promote memberships, personal training, private boxing, and other services. Help achieve monthly sales and revenue goals.
MEMBER RETENTION
Build strong member relationships. Identify cancellation risks and make appropriate save attempts. Address member concerns quickly and professionally. Help create an experience that makes members want to stay.
OPERATIONS
Maintain high standards for cleanliness, equipment, and front-desk operations. Ensure opening, closing, and daily procedures are followed. Monitor staff performance and club standards. Identify problems before they become bigger problems.
LEADERSHIP
Lead by example. Train, coach, and hold employees accountable. Maintain high standards for attendance, professionalism, and performance. Support the General Manager and assume management responsibilities when needed.
COLLECTIONS & ADMINISTRATION
Follow up on past-due accounts. Assist with payment collection and payment updates. Maintain accurate member and employee documentation. Execute company policies and management directives.
