About the Campaign The Western States Regional Council of Carpenters represents over 60,000 carpenters. Los Angeles is the heart of our union. Training is key to our work. One of our 250 training centers is in Sylmar, just up the road from the district. We build nearly every kind of structure you see and we build careers, not just jobs. The Carpenter's Union knows what successful organizing and true leadership can accomplish and that's why they are working to turn out the vote for City Council candidates that share their values. Our campaign will be going door to door in CD-3 to help elect Barri Worth Girvan and CD-9 to help elect Jose Ugarte to the LA City Council on behalf of the Carpenter's Union for the fall midterm elections. Additionally, the Lead Campaign Director will manage a team of one or more Deputy Directors and will be responsible for building an office to scale from the ground up. The Lead Director position reports to the Project Director, and the Deputy Director position reports to the Lead Director. The Field Director will recruit, train, and manage a team of local canvassers to contact voters at the door. Directors are expected to train voter contact canvassers in the field while canvassing themselves to lead by example; they must also communicate long and short-term goals to staff and manage campaign reporting.

City Council Districts 3 and 9 in theWest Valley and South LA Canvass Management Responsibilities:
Manage a team of 10-15 hourly staff who will canvass door to door to talk to voters about defending reproductive rights. Canvass yourself several days a week to train staff and drive office goals Set goals and hold staff accountable to them Train and provide ongoing motivation and support to staff Identify, promote, and train a leadership team Build a diverse team where staff feel respected while fostering a culture of equity and justice Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of the work Maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all staff Develop strategic plans to reach targeted voters in assigned locations Manage administrative duties, including reporting data, record keeping, processing payroll, and distribution of materialsQualifications:
Must Have:
Leadership experience; ability to motivate, grow, and manage a large team Eagerness to lead from the front and canvass several days a week Extreme attention to detail and a proven ability to instill that quality in others Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills Strong passion for community organizing and fostering civic engagement Track record of equity and inclusion Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends Bilingual - fluency in Spanish Nice toHave:
Experience running paid canvasses or managing paid employees Familiarity with PDI Experience working in underserved or marginalized communities Facilitation experience Local knowledge/experienceSalary:
The salary range for this position is $1,352 - $1,575 per week. We offer a generous benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and hands-on training.
