Job Description
Speakeasy Fitness is seeking a hands-on, sales-driven General Manager to lead our Panorama City club (7869 Van Nuys Blvd, Panorama City, CA 91402). This is not a desk job. Our General Managers are expected to be highly visible on the club floor—actively selling memberships, prospecting, engaging with members, coaching the sales team in real time, and maintaining high operational standards throughout the facility. This is a full-time position with an expectation of approximately 50 hours worked per week. From day one, the General Manager is expected to hit the ground running and work toward becoming the #1 sales producer in the club. This means maximizing every sales opportunity, consistently prospecting, generating referrals from the existing member base, following up with leads, and setting the pace for the rest of the sales team. The ideal candidate is highly competitive, understands club performance numbers, and knows how to create accountability while keeping a team motivated and focused on achieving company goals. Compensation $75,000 base salary + commission Additional performance-based earning opportunities based on club results Key Responsibilities Lead sales production by actively selling memberships and modeling strong sales behaviors every day Generate new business through prospecting, referrals, lead follow-up, member engagement, and community outreach Drive the sales team toward daily, weekly, and monthly membership goals Coach sales team members in real time and hold employees accountable to individual and club targets Monitor club KPIs, sales reports, lead activity, conversion rates, and overall performance daily Identify performance gaps quickly and implement action plans to improve results Oversee daily club operations and ensure the facility is operating efficiently Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, equipment condition, and overall club presentation Ensure members consistently receive a high-quality experience Set clear expectations and enforce company policies and operating standards Build and maintain a high-accountability, performance-focused culture Communicate club performance, operational concerns, staffing issues, and opportunities to upper management Take ownership of the overall success and performance of the club Qualifications Minimum 2 years of fitness sales management experience required Proven track record of personally producing strong membership sales Deep understanding of fitness club reporting, KPIs, sales metrics, and club performance numbers Demonstrated ability to lead a sales team and consistently achieve or exceed targets Strong leadership, coaching, and performance-management skills Highly competitive, self-motivated, and results-driven Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership without requiring constant direction Ability and willingness to maintain a highly visible presence on the club floor
