With a legacy rooted in precision, safety, and integrity, we are looking to strengthen our leadership team with a skilled Business Manager who can help guide our growth.Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Manager with a strong foundation in accounting, human resources, and business operations. This role will oversee financial performance, manage administrative functions, and support strategic decision-making.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a 2-4-person admin team to complete all bookkeeping, accounting, finance, HR and other administrative tasks for multi-disciplinary operations (excavation, paving, aggregate and asphalt production and sales). Delegate and oversee tasks, structure checks and balances, and ensure departmental cross training for all admin tasks.
- Oversee day-to-day business operations, including budgeting, payroll, and cash flow management.
- Maintain accurate financial records, prepare monthly and quarterly reports, and collaborate with external accountants as needed.
- Manage accounts receivable/payable and ensure timely billing and collections.
- Monitor project budgets and job costing to ensure profitability and efficiency.
- Lead HR functions such as 401K management, health insurance, hiring, onboarding, and compliance tracking.
- Collaborate with leadership on business development, vendor contracts, and operational planning. ?
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations relevant to construction and finance.
- Sales tax administration for gravel sales.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. (Not required, but strongly suggested)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business or financial management (construction industry preferred).
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of GAAP financial principles, job costing, and budgeting.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the initiative to independently identify solutions. Then collaborate with management, assess available information, and make sound, well-informed business decisions in a timely manner.
- Impeccable time management skills, ability to manage multiple high priority items at one time and meet tight deadlines.
- Preferred experience in property management including executing leases, tenant management, collections, utilities and repairs. Why Join Us?
