Job Description:
We're hiring a General Manager to lead the next stage of our client's manufacturing scale-up. The company has developed technical power products for space applications and is now moving from an R D and prototype-led environment into repeatable production. This role will be responsible for building the production operation properly, creating the systems, team structure and operating rhythm needed to scale. The successful candidate will take ownership of the production facility and lead the transition from early engineering-led builds into a structured manufacturing environment. Over time, the role is expected to grow into full site leadership, including operational performance and P&L responsibility. The company have recently moved into a new facility and it will include a mix of technical volume production and complex final assembly. This is not simple commodity manufacturing. It is a technical B2B product environment where quality, repeatability and manufacturability are central. Key responsibilities The General Manager / Production Facility Leader will be responsible for leading and developing the manufacturing operation across production planning, supply chain, quality, facilities, equipment, production teams, manufacturing sustainment, KPIs and overall operational performance. The role will initially lead a small production team, with headcount expected to increase as the company scales its manufacturing capability. They will build the production function from an early stage, including team structure, factory processes, quality systems, facility layout, production planning and operating cadence. They will also work closely with engineering leadership to ensure products transition effectively from development into manufacturing. Experience required The company is looking for someone who has: Helped build or scale a factory, production facility or manufacturing operation Worked in a technical product manufacturing environment Taken a technical product from prototype or pilot stage into scalable production Strong understanding of design-for-manufacturability Experience across production planning, quality systems, supply chain, facilities and factory-floor leadership Built structure, process and discipline into a manufacturing environment without making it overly corporate Operated in environments where quality, repeatability and manufacturability matter
