Job Description
Description We are looking for a strategic technology executive (VP of IT) to lead the organization's enterprise systems, digital capabilities, and operational IT functions in Gainesville, Florida. This leader will work closely with senior stakeholders to shape a forward-looking technology vision that strengthens performance, supports growth, and enables modern business practices. The role combines hands-on oversight of core technology domains with executive leadership across planning, governance, cybersecurity, and service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Shape and carry out a company-wide technology strategy, including long-range planning, governance practices, and funding priorities that support organizational goals.
- Direct the performance and continuous improvement of enterprise platforms, custom software efforts, system integrations, cloud environments, user computing tools, and daily IT operations.
- Collaborate with executive and departmental leaders to uncover opportunities for automation, process enhancement, and broader digital advancement across the business.
- Define and enforce standards for solution architecture, application development, information security, risk controls, continuity planning, disaster recovery, and compliance requirements.
- Oversee the technology project portfolio by setting priorities, assigning resources, monitoring governance, and driving timely, cost-conscious execution.
- Lead relationships with external technology providers, including contract discussions, managed service oversight, and strategic partner engagement.
- Own IT operating and capital planning by managing budgets, tracking performance indicators, and establishing clear accountability for results.
- Build, mentor, and guide a strong technology organization that encourages teamwork, innovation, dependable service, and skill development. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in information technology, including substantial advancement in scope and leadership responsibility.
- Minimum of 8 years leading multiple enterprise technology functions such as applications, software engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and IT operations.
- Demonstrated success creating and delivering enterprise technology strategies that improve scalability, operational effectiveness, and business transformation.
- Experience leading large-scale technology programs, major implementations, and change initiatives across complex organizations.
- Strong background in budget ownership, vendor management, managed services oversight, and technology investment planning.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms, infrastructure operations, cybersecurity practices, software delivery methods, and IT service management.
- Preferred experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and corporate business environments; advanced degrees or relevant certifications are advantageous.
