General Manager Starting Salary:
$100,000 per year — salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our growing sailing catamaran and watersports business in Panama City Beach. This is a leadership position for someone who enjoys being around boats, people, water and is capable of managing the many moving parts of a busy marine tourism operation. The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our vessels, crew, customers, and business operations run safely, efficiently, and professionally. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent organizational and communication skills, a proven work history, and the ability to take ownership of responsibilities without needing constant supervision. Key Responsibilities Operations & Management Oversee the day-to-day operations of our sailing catamaran and watersports business. Manage daily schedules, reservations, departures, staffing, and operational logistics. Ensure vessels and equipment are properly prepared, clean, maintained, and ready for operation. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service needs. Work closely with captains, crew members, dock staff, and watersports personnel. Establish and maintain efficient operating procedures and standards. Monitor inventory, supplies, fuel, equipment, and other operational needs. Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Crew & Staff Management Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate employees. Create and maintain employee schedules based on business demand. Establish clear expectations for performance, professionalism, safety, and customer service. Address employee issues and maintain a positive, accountable work environment. Ensure all employees follow company policies and applicable safety procedures. Develop a team-oriented culture where employees take pride in the business and the customer experience. Customer Experience Ensure every guest receives a safe, professional, and memorable experience. Handle customer concerns and resolve issues quickly and professionally. Monitor customer reviews and feedback and identify areas for improvement. Maintain high standards for cleanliness, professionalism, communication, and presentation. Help develop new experiences, tours, and watersports offerings that increase customer satisfaction and revenue. Safety & Compliance Maintain a strong culture of safety throughout all operations. Ensure vessels and watersports equipment are operated and maintained in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies. Maintain required documentation, inspections, logs, and operational records. Work with captains and crew to ensure safe operating practices. Respond appropriately to emergencies, weather-related issues, mechanical problems, and other operational challenges. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Our preference is for someone that has experience in previously operating boat tours Someone with a strong background in engine maintenance is a must Has experience in working with Diesel engines, preferably Yanmar inboards for light maintenance Has strong leadership and management experience Has a proven, stable work history and strong references. Is highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities at once. Is comfortable working in a fast-paced, seasonal tourism environment. Has excellent communication and customer-service skills. Is dependable, professional, and willing to take ownership of the operation. Can lead a team while also being willing to get their hands dirty when needed. Has strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Is comfortable working around boats, docks, water, and marine equipment. Has a genuine interest in boating, sailing, watersports, or the marine tourism industry. Preferred Qualifications Previous General Manager, Operations Manager, Marina Manager, Charter Boat Captain or Manager, or similar leadership experience. Marine, boating, charter, tourism, hospitality, or watersports experience. Experience managing employees and operational schedules. Knowledge of vessel maintenance and marine operations. USCG credentials or other relevant marine certifications are a plus. Four of our vessels are US Coast Guard certified vessels that carry 30+ passengers per boat. This position is best suited for someone who wants more than a job. We are looking for a leader who will take ownership, solve problems, help in maintaining our strong team, and help us grow the business and support the success of our staff.
