Job Description
The role for which we are hiring is that of Assistant Manager. We are a unique small business on Cape Cod and are looking for the right candidate to fill the role of Assistant Manager at our refillable shop. We are looking for a friendly and outgoing person to work Monday-Friday 10:00-6:00 at our East Dennis location. We are the only refill market on Cape Cod and enjoy providing each customer with a positive experience and thrive off the word-of-mouth from our community. Interviews will take place mid-September and mid-October with a hire date end of October-early November.
Role requirements:
- Excellent customer service. We take an old school approach to our customer service and provide each customer with a positive experience while they shop in our unique store. This candidate must be comfortable chatting with customers and creating a warm and inviting space to all.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds. We are a bulk store and our product typically comes in cases 25-50lbs.
- Ability to stand the majority of the shift.
- Attention to detail. We offer over 300 refill products and hand write on all our jars and buckets after filling them with product. The product name and price per pound/ounce must be consistent.
- Willingness to learn a completely new way of shopping from the norm in order to provide our community with affordable food, while we reduce single use packaging.
- Cleanliness and organization skills. We pride our shop on being clean and incredibly organized for efficiency.
- Ability to wash and sanitize dishes at the end of shift
- Comfortability with a computerized POS system
- Clear understanding of pounds/ounces/grams/volume/weight as we weigh each and every container brought to us and then again once filled with product.
- Ability to clearly communicate. This role will require the new hire to effectively communicate with the Owner on products that are getting low on stock and any customer questions they are unclear on
- Prior experience in baking or cooking (even just at home) a plus
- Desire to reduce plastic intake in our community a plus
Pay:
From $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0- 40.
