Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your skills will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will support healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment. Your enthusiasm, attention to detail, and compassionate approach will help ensure patients receive exceptional service and care. Whether working in outpatient clinics, hospital settings, or specialized departments like dermatology or urgent care, you'll be at the forefront of delivering quality healthcare services. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy (blood draws), basic X-ray imaging, medication administration, and wound dressing under supervision. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, ICD coding, and treatment plans. Support patient service activities by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and providing clear instructions for follow-up care. Handle medical administrative support tasks including filing medical records, managing appointment calendars, and processing insurance documentation. Collaborate with hospital staff for inpatient or emergency medicine procedures when necessary, including Level I Trauma Center protocols or Geriatrics care. Skills Proven experience in medical office management with a strong foundation in medical terminology and documentation practices. Knowledge of dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care procedures, and outpatient experience to adapt seamlessly across specialties. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management to ensure accurate data entry and retrieval. Familiarity with pharmacology principles for medication administration and understanding of anatomy and physiology for effective patient care. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred to respond confidently during emergencies. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including Geriatrics or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) patients. Ability to perform phlebotomy, X-ray imaging, vital signs collection, ICD coding, and other clinical procedures efficiently within a fast-paced environment. Pay:
$25.47 - $30.67 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 35.0 per week
