General Manager Location:
Frederick, MD (Full-Time, On-Site)
Salary Range:
$60,000 - $70,000 (Commensurate with Experience)

Position Overview TPG Risk Management is seeking a highly organized and proactive General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our agency. This role serves as a key leader within the organization, ensuring our team, processes, finances, and administrative functions run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can balance accountability with support, while also managing critical operational functions including accounting administration, accounts receivable, licensing compliance, commission processing, vendor management, and office administration. This position works closely with agency leadership to drive operational excellence and create an outstanding experience for both employees and clients. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Operations Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight for agency staff. Establish clear expectations, priorities, and accountability measures. Coach, develop, and support team members to drive performance and engagement. Monitor workflow efficiency and identify opportunities for process improvement. Partner with ownership and leadership on operational initiatives and strategic goals. Human Resources & Employee Support Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and workplace concerns. Coordinate onboarding, employee transitions, and offboarding activities. Reinforce company policies, procedures, and workplace standards. Partner with outside HR resources on employee relations, compliance matters, and specialized guidance. Support a positive and productive workplace culture through communication, coaching, and recognition. Financial & Administrative Operations Oversee daily administrative and financial support functions, including deposits, accounts receivable, invoicing, reconciliations, and recordkeeping. Prepare and process producer and employee commission payments while ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. Manage vendor relationships, contracts, billing inquiries, and service provider coordination. Maintain organized financial recordsand support budgeting, reporting, and operational planning initiatives. Compliance & Licensing Administration Maintain employee insurance licensing records and renewal schedules. Monitor continuing education requirements and licensing compliance deadlines. Track required documentation, certifications, and regulatory filings. Ensure agency records remain current and organized. Assist leadership with maintaining compliance with carrier, state, and organizational requirements. Process Improvement & Organizational Effectiveness Develop and document operational processes and procedures. Monitor key administrative and operational performance indicators. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and team effectiveness. Support technology adoption and process automation initiatives where appropriate. Qualifications Required Experience leading, supervising, or managing a team. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with administrative operations, accounting support, or office management. High level of accountability, professionalism, and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Preferred Experience in an insurance agency environment. Knowledge of accounts receivable, reconciliations, commissions, and financial recordkeeping. Familiarity with insurance licensing and compliance requirements. Experience working with agency management systems (Applied Epic, AMS360, or similar). Human Resources experience including onboarding, employee relations, and policy administration.
