Position OverviewJoin our team in "Doing the Most Good" as an Assistant Store Manager. In this support leadership role, you'll assist the Store Manager in all day-to-day operations, including staff supervision, production, sales, store maintenance, customer development, banking, and record keeping procedures. Essential ResponsibilitiesLeadership & OperationsSupport staff training and supervision as assignedImplement strategies to meet production and sales goalsAssist manager with store maintenance and appearance, ensuring safety, security, cleanliness, and utilityEnsure compliance with OSHA and Salvation Army safety/security policiesWork with store manager to keep income and expenses within budgeted parametersProtect resources through product control procedures to prevent shrinkageCustomer & Community RelationsImplement customer development and retention plansCreate an enjoyable shopping experienceWork proactively to improve The Salvation Army's image among staff and communitySupport The Salvation Army's mission statementAdministrativeSupport banking and record-keeping proceduresDocument and provide information for personnel reviews and corrective actionsCommunicate with Store Manager regarding all aspects of store operationsHandle all other duties as assigned QualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent2 years retail experience (thrift experience a plus)Valid Driver's LicenseStrong English communication skillsBasic computer proficiency including POS systemsAbility to pass pre-employment background checkPhysical RequirementsRegular standing, walking, and manual dexterityAbility to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularlyOccasional lifting up to 100 poundsCapability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch as neededClear vision (close and distance) with ability to adjust focusSchedule RequirementsFlexibility to work early shifts, late shifts, and most weekendsAvailable for occasional travel to various locations for work or trainingWorking EnvironmentStore environment with quiet to moderate noise levelMay experience temperature fluctuations based on weatherSome exposure to dust The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.
