The General Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Company's commercial technology, security, and electrical divisions. This executive-level position is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring project profitability, maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction, and leading the growth of technology solutions across commercial and government sectors. The General Manager oversees all aspects of security system integration, commercial electrical services, low-voltage systems, structured cabling, audiovisual solutions, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, fire alarm coordination, and emerging technologies. The position works closely with business development, estimating, project management, field operations, and executive leadership to achieve organizational goals while ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Technology Division. Establish annual operational objectives, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Identify new technologies, market trends, and business opportunities to expand company services. Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term planning, capital investments, and organizational growth. Develop operational policies, procedures, and best practices. Operational Management Direct daily operations of commercial security, electrical, and technology installation teams. Oversee multiple large-scale commercial and government projects from planning through completion. Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to contract requirements. Monitor project schedules, labor utilization, equipment, subcontractors, and materials. Resolve operational challenges and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality assurance. Financial Management Develop and manage departmental budgets. Monitor revenue, profitability, labor costs, and project financial performance. Review project estimates, change orders, and financial forecasts. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction. Support pricing strategies and profitability objectives. Business Development Partner with Business Development and Estimating teams to pursue commercial and government opportunities. Participate in proposal development, customer presentations, and technical solution design. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and strategic partners. Represent the Company at industry events, networking opportunities, and customer meetings. Leadership & Team Development Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate managers, project managers, technicians, electricians, and support staff. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and safety. Conduct performance evaluations and establish employee development plans. Promote professional certifications and ongoing technical training. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, NEC requirements, and all applicable federal, state, local, and customer requirements. Promote a culture of workplace safety. Oversee licensing requirements and maintain industry certifications. Ensure compliance with government contracting requirements, quality standards, and company policies. Customer Relations Serve as the executive point of contact for key clients. Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Develop long-term client relationships that support repeat business. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial electrical, security integration, or technology operations. Minimum of 5 years in a senior management or executive leadership role. Demonstrated experience managing large commercial and government projects. Strong financial management and budgeting experience. Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams. Extensive knowledge of commercial construction and technology systems.
