Role Overview The General Manager will lead U.S. sales and service operations for a Woodworking and Metals businesses, supporting growth across the U.S. and Canada through strong leadership, operational excellence, and customer-focused execution. This leader will help advance the organization's next stage of growth by shaping strategy, identifying new opportunities, deepening customer partnerships, and strengthening operational performance. The ideal candidate brings proven leadership experience in key areas that support business performance and long-term growth. What You'll Do In this role, you will have full responsibility for business performance across both sectors Woodworking and Metals, with primary focus on Woodworking and a growing emphasis on Metals. You will be accountable for personal and department revenue growth, profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement. Strategic Leadership and Business Growth Lead overall business performance with direct P&L accountability. Develop and execute strategic plans that drive growth, profitability, and stronger customer proximity. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion initiatives. Grow total revenue and improve profitability, building on approximately $3M in Metals and $4.5M in Woodworking. Customer Relationships and Commercial Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic accounts. Meet directly with clients to understand their business needs and create long-term value. Personally develop, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements and contracts. Operations, Finance, and Process Improvement Oversee daily business operations and ensure financial and operational targets are achieved. Develop, implement, and manage annual budgets and resource allocation plans. Ensure accurate financial planning, forecasting, reporting, budgeting, and cost management. Drive organizational effectiveness through process improvement and innovative business practices. Team Leadership and Customer Experience Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead high-performing sales, service, and operational teams. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus. Work closely with sales, marketing, and service teams to deliver exceptional customer experience in both the Woodworking and Metals industries. Resolve employee and operational issues in a professional, constructive manner. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Industry and commercial experience: Proven success increasing sales in the woodworking and metals industries, with working knowledge of sales, service, finance, and operational best practices in both sectors.
Executive leadership:
Demonstrated success in a senior management, general management, or business leadership role, including the ability to motivate, develop, and hold teams accountable for performance.
Financial accountability:
Proven budget ownership and direct P&L responsibility, with strong business acumen and the ability to develop and execute financial and operational plans.
Customer and negotiation skills:
Experience building strong customer relationships and supporting complex commercial negotiations.
Communication and collaboration:
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative style focused on profitable growth, execution, organization, and clear communication.
Preferred Qualifications Cross-functional leadership:
Experience leading teams across sales, service, operations, and administration.
Industry background:
Experience in capital equipment, machinery distribution, manufacturing, or industrial services.
Global collaboration:
Experience working with international organizations or global business partners.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
