Job Description

Outstanding opportunity with major water utility headquartered in Hunterdon County. Our Authority maintains the public water supplies in the Raritan System, inclusive of Spruce Run and Round Valley Reservoirs and the Delaware and Raritan Canal, and the Manasquan System, inclusive of the Manasquan Reservoir. The Authority also operates the Manasquan Water Treatment Plant under a contractual agreement with the owners of the plant, the Southeast Monmouth Municipal Utilities Authority. Diversified responsibilities include the oversight of all operations and maintenance activities and emergency response planning and actions for all Authority facilities, and long and short-term fiscal and capital improvement planning along with the oversight of our budgeting, procurement, and contracting processes, etc. Other duties include conducting monthly meetings for the Board of Commissioners along with reviewing and providing comment on proposed or amended legislation impacting the Authority, and maintaining effective working relationships with various publicly and/or investor-owned utilities, water customers, the general public, and governmental agencies and other interest groups on a wide variety of water supply, water resource management, and related environmental issues. Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Management, or related field along with at least 15 years progressively responsible experience including the management of a water supply or wastewater treatment utility, or a resource management or watershed stewardship program, 5 years of which shall have been in a multifaceted organization. Prior public agency management experience is a plus. Outstanding management and communication skills are also required, as is an understanding of the technical aspects of water utility management.
