Job Description

General Manager - Hotel Operations Leadership We are seeking a visionary, results‑driven General Manager to lead our hotel's operational, financial, and cultural performance. This executive role is responsible for shaping the guest experience, driving profitability, developing high‑performing teams, and ensuring the property consistently delivers excellence across all departments. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, exceptional leadership presence, and a passion for hospitality. Role Overview The General Manager serves as the chief executive of the property, overseeing all hotel operations including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, breakfast, sales, and administrative functions. This leader ensures the hotel operates efficiently, meets financial targets, adheres to brand and regulatory standards, and maintains a strong reputation within the local community. The GM fosters a culture of accountability, service, and continuous improvement while empowering department leaders to excel. Key Leadership Responsibilities Provide strategic direction and daily leadership to all hotel departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Build, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team through coaching, clear expectations, and consistent follow‑through. Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, expense control, revenue management, and profitability analysis. Lead the development and execution of marketing and business strategies to strengthen market position and drive revenue growth. Champion an exceptional guest experience by ensuring service excellence, rapid issue resolution, and proactive communication. Maintain full operational oversight, addressing staffing needs, equipment requirements, maintenance priorities, and renovation planning. Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, travel partners, corporate representatives, and community stakeholders. Conduct regular property inspections and enforce strict compliance with safety, regulatory, and brand standards. Serve as the property's ambassador—representing the hotel with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. Perform additional executive duties as assigned by ownership or senior leadership. Qualifications & Professional Background Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum three years of hotel or guest‑service leadership experience, including at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience managing a hotel of similar size and operational complexity preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, analytical, and project‑management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated leadership presence, interpersonal effectiveness, and a positive, solutions‑oriented mindset. Ability to operate independently, make sound decisions, and lead confidently under pressure.
