Pronoss is a growing operation serving commercial fleets, dealers, and owner-operators. We build, repair, and outfit the equipment that keeps our customers working. We're looking for a proven leader to take ownership of our upfit department and scale it with us. The Director of Upfitting owns the growth and performance of our upfit business, from winning the deal through engineering, build, quality inspection, and delivery. This is a revenue-driving leadership role. You will add new product lines and grow existing. You'll build relationships with fleets, dealers, and OEM partners, close upfit business, and lead the team that delivers it. We're looking for someone with a proven sales track record in the upfit industry who also knows the shop floor and understands the numbers. Salary + sales/performance bonus
Key Responsibilities:
▪ Grow the business. Develop and execute a sales strategy to develop new business products and services and grow upfit revenue. Prospect, pitch, and close new fleet, dealer, municipal, and commercial accounts.
▪ Own key relationships. Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet managers, truck dealers, chassis OEMs, and body/equipment manufacturers.
▪ Sell the right solution. Work with customers to scope builds, recommend configurations, and deliver accurate, profitable quotes and proposals.
▪ Hit the numbers. Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and forecast; meet or exceed revenue and gross profit targets.
▪ Run the operation. Lead day-to-day upfit operations, including scheduling, workflow, and shop capacity planning to hit delivery commitments.
▪ Drive profitability. Own department P&L — labor efficiency, gross profit, material costs, and budget performance.
▪ Own the build. Review and approve build specs, drawings, and bills of material; ensure builds meet customer specs, OEM body builder guidelines, and applicable
FMVSS / DOT
requirements.
▪ Protect quality. Establish inspection standards and sign-off procedures; reduce rework and warranty claims.
▪ Keep customers coming back. Serve as the escalation point for customer issues on pricing, lead times, and build changes; protect repeat business.
Qualifications:
▪ 5+ years of B2B sales experience in the commercial truck, trailer, truck body, or vehicle upfit industry, with a documented record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
▪ An established network of fleet, dealer, or OEM contacts preferred.
▪ Ability to scope technical builds and price them profitably; comfortable negotiating with fleet buyers and procurement teams.
▪ 7+ years of overall experience in truck body, trailer, or commercial vehicle upfitting, fabrication, manufacturing, or sales.
▪ Strong working knowledge of upfit components: truck bodies, liftgates, cranes, hydraulics, PTOs, electrical/lighting systems, racks, and storage.
▪ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, build sheets, and wiring diagrams.
▪ Proven track record managing budgets, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery.
▪ Clear communicator who can lead a shop floor and speak confidently with customers and leadership.
▪ Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

$100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
