Role Overview At Atlas, we believe every patient deserves personalized support navigating a complex cancer care system. The VP of Technology and Data will architect and manage the platform that makes that possible. This role suits someone who thrives in ambiguity and builds structure in a fast-moving, start-up context. In this role, you will partner closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to understand user needs, develop a technology and data roadmap, and execute alongside Atlas and partner oncology practice teams. In the immediate term, you will also act as an independent contributor / builder to support execution of the data and product strategy. In addition to leading "data and insights as a product," you will also be charged with recruiting and managing a team that supports daily technology operations and information security. Across these priorities, your mandate will be to accelerate adoption of AI tools by both the corporate and clinic-based teams. Key Responsibilities Technology and Data Strategy Build a short and long-term technology and data roadmap and use Atlas' core competencies to drive build-versus-buy decisions. Architect the data warehouse and reporting infrastructure supporting corporate outcome measures and continuous improvement. Design and maintain the data feeds required for an intelligent value-based care operation, in close partnership with Atlas' interoperability and data warehouse vendors. Ensure that Atlas is leveraging modern AI tools to power its tech and data infrastructure. Daily Technology Operations Code and deploy data pipelines (ETL/ELT) directly, and serve as interim DBA as you build the team. Lead the team spanning IT and information security, data engineering, help desk, and EMR specialists. Set direction and accountability for day-to-day technology issues — outages, vendor escalations, security threats, SLA breaches — with the Director of IT and Information Security owning execution. Partner-Facing Champion the technology vision internally, to the board, and to current and prospective partners. Serve as the face of Atlas technology with practice partners from diligence through implementation and run-rate operations. Support implementation for new payer and provider clients.
Reporting:
This role will report to the President Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 5-10 years of experience in healthcare IT, Data, and/or Product leadership Basic competency as both a data engineer and data warehouse administrator with a history of prior healthcare deployments Fluency with modern AI solutions Experience with product strategy, build versus buy, and user needs research Prior expertise managing and contracting key technology vendors Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail Proficient in performing data analyses in Excel, summarizing executive-friendly output in PowerPoint, including performance dashboards Ability to think critically, problem-solve, and translate ideas into action Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Experience in a high growth startup Experience in outpatient value-based care primary care Experience working with ClaudeCODE CLI / IDE
