House of Hope Development Director General Summary:
The Development Assistant supports fundraising, grants, donor relations, volunteer engagement, and administrative functions at House of Hope. Responsibilities include managing grant and donor records, tracking program data, supporting fundraising and community events, overseeing donation garage operations, and promoting the organization's mission and values.
Duties :
Research, prepare, and submit new current grant and funding opportunities. Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and funding outcomes. Complete and submit grant reports and documentation to funders in a timely manner. Assist the Development Director in maintaining donor relations and coordinating speaking engagements. Track donor information, grant activity, and fundraising efforts within CharityProud and other software management systems. Support fundraising efforts as needed. Assist the Development Director with administrative projects and daily operational needs. Work with the Case Management Team to maintain data tracking systems and prepare monthly program statistics and reports. Oversee garage operations while developing and retaining volunteers. Receive donations during regular business hours and assist with unloading, sorting, shelving, and organizing donated items. Keep the garage, store, main building, and grounds organized, stocked, and clean. Oversee facilities and Property Maintenance while developing and retaining volunteers. Clean and stage apartments for new residents. Landscaping and outdoor maintenance. Manage Wishlist. Collaborate with area nonprofits to distribute surplus donations. Communicate resident, donation, and supply needs with appropriate staff members. Serve as a positive representative of House of Hope when interacting with donors, volunteers, community partners, and the public. In the absence of the Development Director, respond to donor inquiries and provide appropriate assistance. Greet volunteers, donors, commmunity members, and prospective program participants, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment during regular business hours. Provide and accurate and positive description of House of Hope programs and services. Adhere to all confidentiality policies and proedures. Other duties as assigned.
Classification:

Physical Demands:
Ability to sit for long periods of time in an office environment. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to lift at least 25 pounds on a consistent basis.

Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, computer keyboard, telephone, office equipment, and company vehicles. Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment. Ability to analyze and interpret departmental administrative needs and results. Ability to understand and solve complex problems. Ability to maintain mental concentration for significant periods of time.
Work Environment:
Ability to work in a chaotic environment with loud noise levels. Able to work general office hours along with occasional nights, weekends and holidays.
