Job Description

Position Overview:
The Michigan Works! Association seeks a highly motivated Grant Specialist to oversee and ensure programmatic compliance for existing grants, manage project deliverables, and support new grant writing efforts. This role emphasizes external collaboration and liaison responsibilities with stakeholders while working cross-functionally within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
    Project Management:
    Working closely with the Director of Strategic Initiatives, oversee and manage existing grant programs to ensure alignment with program objectives and compliance requirements.
      Compliance and Reporting:
      Develop and file required reporting for grants, manage documentation, and meet all deadlines.
        Stakeholder Liaison:
        Act as the primary contact for external stakeholders and grant recipients for existing programs, ensuring effective communication and partnership.
          Grant Writing Support:
          Assist in developing and submitting new grant proposals
            Documentation Management:
            Maintain accurate records, official documentation, and files related to grant activities.
              Technology Proficiency:
              Utilize tools and systems to track grant milestones and manage communications effectively.
                Supportive Services:
                Provide technical assistance to grant recipients as needed for compliance and implementation.
                Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
                Organizational Support:
                Attend and assist with multiple in-person events throughout the year in support of the organizational mission and goals.
                Travel:
                Willingness and ability to travel independently within the state of Michigan to assist in events and grant management activities.
                Performance Expectations:
                • Ensure compliance and successful execution of all grant deliverables.
                • Meet project milestones and reporting requirements on time.
                • Contribute to organizational mission through effective collaboration and external engagement.
                Work Environment:
                This position offers flexibility with a combination of remote and in-person work, fostering a balance between independent work and collaborative efforts. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $52,000-$60,000, depending on relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The Michigan Works! Association provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; 403(b) retirement account with up to 5% match; paid time off; paid volunteer time off; paid holidays; and a paid year-end closure from Christmas Eve through New Year's Day.
