Position Summary The Grant Manager is responsible for managing Ujamaa Place's full grant lifecycle—from prospecting and proposal development to reporting and stewardship. This role ensures that Ujamaa Place maintains a strong, diversified portfolio of foundation, corporate, and government funding that aligns with our mission and supports organizational growth. Key Responsibilities Research, identify, and evaluate new funding opportunities aligned with Ujamaa Place's mission and priorities. Maintain a 12-18 month grant pipeline with clear deadlines, submission targets, and revenue projections. Collaborate with leadership to align grant strategy with organizational goals and program needs. Write high-quality letters of inquiry, proposals, and government grant applications. Gather program data, participant outcomes, budgets, and narratives from internal teams. Tailor proposals to reflect funder priorities while maintaining Ujamaa' Place's voice and cultural grounding. Manage all grant deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements. Track grant deliverables, outcomes, and expenditures in collaboration with Finance and Program teams. Ensure compliance with funder guidelines, government regulations, and internal policies. Prepare timely, accurate narrative and financial reports. Maintain strong relationships with funders through updates, site visits, and communication. Partner with Finance to develop grant budgets and monitor spending. Support Advancement team projects, events, and campaigns as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in grant writing, grant management, or nonprofit fundraising. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to translate program impact into compelling narratives and data. Preferred Experience with DEED and OJP government grants. Familiarity with human services, reentry, or culturally specific programming. Experience with grant management software. Understanding of the philanthropic landscape in Minnesota. Job Information
