Job Summary - Why you'll love this position The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), Division of Behavioral Health (DBH), seeks to hire a Housing Initiatives Specialist. This is a Central Office position located in the DMH, DBH's Housing Unit and will be domiciled in Jefferson City. The Housing Initiatives Specialist is a Program Specialist level position, reports to the Housing Director, and works with the DBH Housing Team to coordinate services for unhoused Missouians. This position focuses on developing and implementing programs to help Missourians with disabilities obtain and maintain safe, affordable, and proper housing. The base salary offered for this position is up to $56,016.48 annually, commensurate with education and experience. If the selected candidate is eligible for a pay differential, such as retention pay, the total salary may exceed what is listed in this posting.
Responsibilities - What you'll do Work directly with Missourians who experience severe mental illness, disabilities, and substance use disorders in obtaining services and benefits to access viable housing options. Develop and implement programs that address housing needs, such as Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) and Housing Liaison (HL) programs. Provide training and technical assistance to providers across the state. Engage HLs in their local Continuum of Care and case conferencing efforts. Conduct street outreach activities with HLs. Plan, manage, and utilize federal and state grant funding. Review monthly invoices. Monitor grant performance and engage in compliance activities. Qualifications - All you need for success
Skills:
The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, including accurate grammar, spelling, and punctuation and technical writing skills; demonstrates the ability to organize and coordinate work across multiple projects and locations; collaborates effectively with peers, providers, partner organizations, collaborators, and interested parties; and possess well-developed analytical, observation, and problem-solving skills. This position requires skills to work independently and as a team. Limited travel is expected in various areas of the state
Knowledge Required :
This position requires comprehensive understanding of community behavioral health programs and services; grant management and review processes; complex case problem-solving; facilitation of virtual and in-person trainings; excellent written and verbal communication and knowledge of data entry, analysis and collection.
Qualifications:
One to three years of professional experience in grant management/compliance, case management, training or technical assistance, behavioral health case management, homelessness case management or closely related area. or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or Public Administration is preferred.
