Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate management of warehouse inventory, ensuring seamless stock control and efficient order fulfillment. Your expertise in warehouse distribution, data analysis, and supply chain management will drive operational excellence and support our company's commitment to delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 and SAP. Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and audits to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies. Analyze inventory data through spreadsheets, Power BI dashboards, and data visualization tools to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for process improvement. Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and optimize purchasing strategies. Coordinate shipping & receiving activities, including materials handling, order fulfillment, and logistics inventory management. Perform demand planning and analyze sales data from Nielsen reports or other sources to forecast future inventory needs. Support warehouse operations by assisting with materials management, stocking procedures, and materials handling tasks such as heavy lifting when necessary. Utilize technical proficiency in warehouse management software (WMS), ERP systems (like MRPs), and inventory control tools to streamline processes. Conduct root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies or stock shortages and implement corrective actions. Engage in cross-functional communication with merchandising, production planning, and logistics teams to ensure alignment on inventory strategies. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse distribution, warehouse management, or supply chain roles with a strong understanding of inventory management software (e.g., AS400, SAP). Demonstrated skills in data mining, data analytics, financial analysis, and visualization tools such as Power BI or Excel data analysis. Familiarity with procurement processes including sourcing, pricing negotiations, and supplier management experience. Ability to perform root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives within a warehouse environment. Valid forklift certification preferred; ability to perform heavy lifting safely is required. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in spreadsheets, ERP systems, and demand planning tools like MRP systems. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across departments involved in logistics inventory management. Technical proficiency in materials handling equipment and knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures. Math skills necessary for financial modeling related to inventory valuation and supply chain analytics.
