This position is responsible for supporting the accurate intake, labeling, organization, storage, counting, and movement of inventory throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, the ability to follow established procedures, and a commitment to maintaining inventory accuracy and compliance. Depending on experience, demonstrated performance, and leadership ability, this position may provide an opportunity for advancement into an Inventory Management role . Candidates with prior inventory, warehouse, cannabis, compliance, or leadership experience are encouraged to apply. Core Responsibilities Accurately barcode and label all incoming inventory. Assist with counting and verifying inventory during the intake process. Conduct inventory cycle counts and assist with maintaining inventory accuracy. Assist the Inventory Team with daily intake, organization, and inventory projects. Ensure products are stored correctly and efficiently. Maintain an organized and fully utilized inventory storage area. Assist with releasing, restocking, and moving products as directed by Management. Identify and report inventory discrepancies to the appropriate Manager or METRC Specialist. Assist Management with inventory-related projects, audits, organization, and process improvements. Maintain a high level of professionalism and communication with coworkers, customers, vendors, and Management. Follow all company policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and inventory controls. Essential Functions Inventory Intake & Barcoding Examine merchandise upon receipt to ensure products are properly sealed, labeled, and suitable for sale. Accurately count and verify products received during inventory intake. Apply barcodes and labels precisely and consistently according to company procedures. Follow Management's direction regarding proper barcode placement. Ensure each product receives the correct barcode or label. Maintain a high level of accuracy to help prevent inventory discrepancies. Complete barcoding and labeling in a timely manner to maintain the efficient flow of inventory. Identify damaged, defective, improperly labeled, or otherwise questionable inventory and report it to the appropriate Manager or METRC Specialist. Assist with the proper introduction and placement of new products into inventory and storage. Inventory Control & Organization Assist with scheduled and unscheduled inventory counts. Perform cycle counts accurately and consistently. Assist with investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies. Ensure inventory is stored according to established procedures. Maintain clean, organized, and efficient storage areas. Identify opportunities to better utilize available storage space. Assist with inventory audits and reconciliation processes. Follow all inventory control procedures designed to maintain accurate inventory records. Assist with restocking and product movement as directed by Management. Compliance & Procedures Review and adhere to all company policies, procedures, goals, and objectives applicable to the Inventory Department. Follow all applicable cannabis inventory, compliance, health, safety, and security requirements. Maintain accurate and consistent inventory practices. Immediately communicate potential compliance concerns, inventory discrepancies, or procedural issues to Management. Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, inventory, sales, and other business information. Complete required training and remain current on company policies and procedures. Leadership & Advancement Opportunities Candidates with strong leadership ability, prior inventory management experience, or demonstrated knowledge of cannabis inventory operations may be considered for additional responsibilities and advancement opportunities. Individuals being considered for advancement may be expected to: Take increased ownership of daily Inventory Department operations. Assist in training and developing Inventory Team members. Help coordinate inventory intake, cycle counts, and department priorities. Assist Management with inventory planning and organization. Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions. Help establish and maintain consistent inventory procedures. Assist with accountability and follow-through within the Inventory Team. Communicate inventory concerns, trends, and recommendations to Management. Take initiative in identifying and resolving inventory-related issues. Serve as a reliable resource for the Inventory Team and Management. Demonstrate the ability to work independently while maintaining communication with Management. Take on additional leadership responsibilities as assigned. Advancement is based on business needs, experience, performance, reliability, leadership ability, and demonstrated proficiency in the responsibilities of the position. Additional Functions Find creative and practical ways to improve inventory organization and workflow. Think critically and proactively when addressing operational challenges. Work collaboratively with Management and other departments to accomplish operational goals. Maintain current knowledge of products carried by the business. Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, organization, and accuracy of inventory operations. Assist with cleaning and sanitation protocols within assigned work areas. Assist with special projects and other inventory-related assignments. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Management. Preferred Qualifications The following experience is preferred but not required: Previous inventory or warehouse experience. Cannabis industry experience. Experience with METRC or cannabis compliance systems. Experience with inventory management systems or POS systems. Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Experience conducting cycle counts, audits, reconciliations, or inventory intake. Demonstrated ability to train or support other employees. Physical Demands The essential functions of this position may require the employee to: Sit and stand for extended periods of time. Bend, crouch, kneel, and reach to retrieve products from shelves and storage areas. Repeatedly perform scanning, labeling, and barcoding activities. Lift, carry, and/or move products weighing up to 35 pounds. Push or pull inventory and storage equipment as necessary. Perform repetitive motions associated with inventory processing. Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
