Job Description
The Steel Receiving & Inventory Associate is responsible for receiving, inspecting, organizing, and tracking incoming steel materials and inventory within a warehouse or manufacturing environment. This role ensures accuracy of inventory records, proper material storage, and timely movement of steel products to support production and customer requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesReceive incoming steel shipments and verify quantities against packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
Inspect materials for damage, defects, and compliance with specifications.
Unload, move, and store steel products using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP, warehouse management, or inventory tracking systems.
Perform routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
Label and organize steel inventory for efficient storage and retrieval.
Issue materials to production departments and prepare materials for outbound shipments as needed.
Coordinate with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams regarding inventory levels and material availability.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
The salary range for this position is $22/hr to $24/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
