Inventory Assistant Department:
Business and Finance | Surplus Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager, the Inventory Assistant supports surplus property and inventory control operations for the university. The position assists with receiving, inspecting, recording, storing, and tracking surplus and retired property using established policies, procedures, and guidelines. The role supports warehouse operations, inventory control activities, and surplus property disposition processes. The Inventory Assistant performs routine customer service, assists with surplus sales activities, supports inventory accuracy, and follows established safety practices while learning and applying inventory control procedures.Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED. Must be able to lift at least 65 lbs.Desired Qualifications:
Zero to two (0-2) years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or material and equipment handling environments. Knowledge of inventory control practices, office procedures, and basic computer operations, including Microsoft Office applications, preferred. Experience providing routine customer service and supporting public-facing operations is desirable. Ability to perform basic calculations, complete routine forms, respond to standard telephone and email inquiries, gather and organize information, and work under unusual working conditions. Must be physically fit and follow established safety practices.Function:
