An inventory clerk tracks, organizes, and maintains a company's stock of goods and supplies. They record incoming and outgoing shipments, conduct physical counts and audits, and update computer databases to make sure digital records match actual inventory.

Core Duties and Responsibilities Track Stock:

Count products and record every item that enters or leaves the warehouse or store.

Receive Shipments:

Unload deliveries, inspect items for damage, and compare what arrived to the packing slip or invoice.

Run Audits:

Do regular cycle counts to find missing items or tracking errors.

Fix Errors:

Research and solve discrepancies between physical counts and system records.

Organize Storage:

Label shelves, tag products, and keep stock rooms neat and safe.

Reorder Supplies:

Tell managers or buyers when stock gets low so they can buy more.

Skills and Qualifications Detail Focused:

Care about small details to keep records exact and stop financial loss.

Computer Skills:

Know how to use data entry tools, spreadsheets, and inventory software.

Math Skills:

Use basic math to count, weigh, and measure stock.

Physical Strength:

Stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Education:

High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must be able to work Monday through Thrusday 7:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and Fridays 7:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Must drive a sit down lift
