Inventory Associate II /
Forklift Operator Location:
Hutto, TX 78634
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00
PM Duration:
6+ Month Contract with potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position based on performance About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Associate II / Forklift Operator to support warehouse and fulfillment operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory management, receiving, shipping, material handling, and warehouse operations, along with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This role requires operating material handling equipment, performing inventory transactions, receiving and inspecting shipments, supporting inventory accuracy, and ensuring materials move efficiently through the fulfillment process. Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Fulfillment Operations Perform inventory transactions, cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation activities to maintain inventory accuracy. Support receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, packing, shipping, and material staging operations. Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and inventory requirements to support fulfillment and production workflows. Ensure proper identification, tracking, and storage of materials throughout the warehouse. Receiving & Shipping Receive inbound shipments and unload materials from carriers safely and efficiently. Inspect incoming deliveries for quantity, quality, and compliance with established procedures. Process receipts and work orders accurately within inventory management systems. Prepare outbound shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, documentation, and carrier compliance. Material Handling & Equipment Operation Operate material handling equipment, including: Forklifts Reach Trucks Turret Trucks Electric Pallet Jacks (EPJs) Move, stage, store, and transport materials throughout the facility while maintaining inventory integrity and safety standards. Follow equipment operating procedures and perform daily equipment inspections. Quality & Process Excellence Conduct quality control checks according to standard operating procedures. Package, label, and store materials to ensure product protection and traceability. Identify process inefficiencies, inventory discrepancies, and operational roadblocks. Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to prevent defects and improve operational performance. Systems & Documentation Enter inventory transactions accurately into warehouse and inventory management systems. Maintain complete and accurate records related to receipts, shipments, inventory movements, and work orders. Follow established procedures and documentation requirements to ensure compliance and audit readiness. Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in fulfillment center, warehouse, logistics, inventory, or distribution operations. Experience with receiving, shipping, inventory control, cycle counting, and material handling. Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment. Experience using inventory management, warehouse management, or ERP systems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy. Ability to troubleshoot issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Preferred Qualifications Forklift certification or previous PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) experience. Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs). Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and inventory control best practices. Experience in high-volume fulfillment or manufacturing environments.
