Job Description

Job Summary The purchaser is responsible for purchasing and inventory management for assigned brands across both Baker warehouses. The role ensures optimal inventory levels through accurate forecasting, timely purchasing, inventory control, receiving, and regular inventory audits. The purchaser works closely with suppliers, warehouse staff, and internal teams to maintain product while minimizing excess inventory.
Key Responsibilities Forecasting:
Develop and maintain supplier forecasts to ensure a consistent and uninterrupted supply of products.
Inventory Management:
Maintain Baker-designated target selling days on hand for each assigned brand while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory
Management of Seasonal & Promotional Calendars:
Stay ahead of all seasonal product changes, new product launches & promotional calendars to ensure needed on hand inventory levels.
Purchasing:
Create and submit purchase orders in the VIP system, scheduling orders to account for supplier lead times and delivery requirements.
Costing:
Verify supplier costs match our system to ensure purchase order totals and supplier invoices match correctly.
Receiving:
Receive all inbound shipments into the VIP system using Bills of Lading (BOLs). When needed, assist with unloading, inspecting, and verifying shipments before system receipt.
Warehouse Transfers:
Manage inventory levels between both Baker warehouses by initiating transfer requests and processing the appropriate transfer documentation and billing.
Inventory Control:
Participate in weekly inventory counts and audits with the inventory team every Friday, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
Managing Returns:
Complete supplier return form, bill out dunnage for each supplier. $65,000.00 per year
