Dispensary Associate NewLeaf Cannabis Dispensary | Fairmont, WV NewLeaf Cannabis Dispensary is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and knowledgeable Dispensary Associate to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, providing exceptional patient care, and working in a fast-paced retail environment. What You'll Do Under the supervision of the General Manager and the Shift Lead, the Dispensary Associate will support the daily operations of the dispensary, including: Welcome patients and provide a professional, positive experience. Complete patient check-in and verify required documentation. Communicate with patients and provide education regarding cannabis medications, including potential benefits and side effects. Process point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately. Receive, process, package, label, and fulfill patient orders. Process online and phone orders. Maintain accurate patient and product records using dispensary software. Track inventory and complete daily inventory counts. Receive and organize inventory. Maintain product and patient databases as needed. Follow all West Virginia medical cannabis laws, regulations, and requirements. Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dispensary environment. Respond to patient calls and emails and provide product and general information. Assist with dispensary opening and closing procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate. Must pass a criminal history background check. Must have flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work 10-32 hours per week based on dispensary operating hours, including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills. Ability to listen to patients and provide thoughtful, professional assistance. Empathy and compassion when working with patients. Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively. Experience with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use various software platforms. Ability to accurately process sales transactions and maintain inventory records. Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive manual tasks. Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds, or more with assistance. Preferred Experience The ideal candidate will have two years of retail experience, particularly in a position involving: Customer service. Inventory tracking and management. Point-of-sale transactions. Working in a fast-paced retail environment. Experience in the medical cannabis industry is a plus, but a strong commitment to patient care, professionalism, and learning is equally important.
