Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Inventory Specialist to manage and optimize our company's inventory processes. This role involves overseeing stock levels, coordinating with supply chain partners, and utilizing data analytics tools to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency. Drives operational excellence by strategically managing a company's stock to ensure seamless product availability. The core duties include leveraging advanced tracking systems, conducting precise audits, and proactively resolving stock challenges. Duties Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and supplies used in production. This role ensures that all materials are received, stored, issued, and reported accurately in accordance with company procedures. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across multiple warehouse locations using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems such as AS400 and SAP. Conduct root cause analysis to identify discrepancies, stock shortages, or excess inventory, implementing process improvements to mitigate issues. Manage procurement activities including sourcing, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and managing supplier relationships to optimize costs and delivery times. Coordinate with logistics providers for shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and materials handling to ensure timely delivery of products. Perform inventory audits, cycle counts, and stock reconciliations; oversee materials management including stocking and replenishment strategies. Support category management initiatives by analyzing sales trends using Nielsen or retail management data to optimize product assortment. Assist in production planning and materials management to align inventory levels with manufacturing schedules. Handle heavy lifting when necessary for materials handling within warehouses or distribution centers. Skills Extensive knowledge of supply chain management, warehouse distribution, and logistics operations. Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (such as AS400), SQL, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau. Strong analytical skills with experience in data analytics, financial modeling, demand planning, and root cause analysis. Excellent negotiation skills for procurement activities and supplier management. Familiarity with category management, merchandising strategies, pricing analysis, and contract negotiations. Ability to perform process improvement initiatives using supply chain analytics and sourcing strategies. Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, order fulfillment processes, and 3PL logistics providers. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and analysis skills for demand forecasting. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
