Education High School Diploma or equivalent required Experience Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of recent Central Supply experience in a hospital setting Experience with medical equipment processing and inventory management preferred Preferred Skills Knowledge of hospital supply chain and equipment distribution processes Experience with equipment decontamination and sterilization Inventory control and supply management experience Familiarity with Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) is a plus Strong computer and organizational skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment Job Summary The Central Equipment Service Technician I is responsible for maintaining the availability, cleanliness, and functionality of medical equipment and supplies throughout the hospital. Working under general supervision, this role supports nursing units by managing equipment inventory, processing reusable medical equipment, and ensuring timely distribution across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and prepare medical equipment for patient use Sterilize and distribute medical equipment throughout the facility Monitor and maintain equipment and supply inventory levels Track equipment using the Real-Time Location System (RTLS) Ensure equipment is available, functioning properly, and delivered promptly to patient care areas Assist with inventory control and supply replenishment Maintain accurate documentation and inventory records Follow infection prevention, safety, and hospital regulatory guidelines Collaborate with nursing and clinical departments to meet equipment needs Perform additional administrative and departmental duties as assigned
