Inventory Control Specialist

Job Description

Purpose/Scope of Position The Inventory Control Specialists primary function is maintaining accurate counts and records of inventory and overseeing the movement of inventory between warehouses and outside customers. This person will have a high degree of organization, attention to detail and great communication skills. Responsibilities/Duties (inclusive of but not limited to): Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made. Receive and issue finished goods into computer database. Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with production and inspection personnel. Prepare monthly reports for cycle count. Manages and maintains inventory system. Prepares and compiles outbound shipping documentation. Oversees release of finished product along with quality documentation. Maintains reports and work flows of out - of - conformance product. Responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary warehouses. Maintain a systematic release of product, following FIFO rules depending on customer requirements. Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities. Processes source documents, reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to production for resolution. Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory. Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits. Operates forklift truck when necessary. Performs other related duties as requested. Education/Training High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience with computerized inventory systems preferred. Forklift operator certification preferred. Skills Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers. Basic understanding of inventory control procedures. Proficient keyboarding skills. Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision. Ability to develop professional relationships. Ability to perform basic math calculations. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Open to changing situations and is willing to perform all tasks when and where assigned. Ability to meet or exceed the company's attendance and punctuality standards. Ability to work under pressure.
